Important Information Affecting Your Checking Account
Opt in NOW to continue receiving the same level of service!
A recent change to your checking account was approved by the Federal Government (effective August 15, 2010) which will require your consent before we can provide you with overdraft services for everyday debit card and ATM transactions even if we have done so in the past!
The majority of our customers prefer having this service to avoid the inconvenience of having their debit card purchase denied at the grocery store, gas station or store checkout line.
The new regulation requires us to obtain your consent before we can consider payment. If you do not give us permission to cover everyday debit card and ATM transactions in the event of an overdraft by “opting in,” we will be forced to decline your card when you do not have enough money in your account.
To “opt-in” you will need to tell us.
- Call 413-243-9246 and talk to a Community Banker about “opting in” OR
- Mail or deliver an Opt-In form (download form here) to any
of our branch locations
Once you have “opted-in” we will send you a letter to confirm your choice.
We appreciate having you as our customer. There is no charge for this service unless you use it.
